Elin Hilderbrand’s ’28 Summers’

So relaxing and summery. Every cover of every Elin Hilderbrand book makes me feel like taking up sailing; and winning the lottery so I could live in a place like Nantucket.

I don’t even know where to start; I review so many books that are commissioned and don’t always have time to review titles of my choice, which makes me a little lazy about doing so (I am working on this). But I have long been a huge fan of Elin HIlderbrand; she is my omg, you have to read this book author. She has turned me into a beach read pusher. A pusher, Cady.

’28 Summers’ follows our girl Mallory over the course of, can you guess what I’m about to say? 28 luscious summer weekends spent with a special someone, her ‘Same Time, Next Year’- but this book is so much more than that. It is filled with the complex relationships, realistically flawed and lovable characters, and comforts of hearth and home on a gorgeous island 30 miles out to sea that Hilderbrand is known for adoring and writing love letter after love letter to.

The fun surprises were the pop culture references at the beginning of each chapter that made me smile or sometimes cringe, startle at how quickly time has passed, and remember what I was doing in 1993, 2001, 2013.

This book was spectacular from beginning to end.

’28 Summers’ drops June 16th.
